2021 London Marathon – Week 6

It’s officially summer! The temperature reached 85 degrees by the end of my 19-miler on Sunday but a cool front moved through mid-week making the other workouts much more pleasant. In fact, the paces for my interval workout on Tuesday and my marathon-pace run on Thursday were both faster than they should have been.

Winter of 2020 – Week 1

After a week of down-time, I started my winter training cycle! My goal is just to be fitter by spring so I can properly train for the 2021 London Marathon next fall. However, I was so focused on house-hunting that the first workout caught me by surprise.

Summer of 2020 – Week 2

Northern Virginia entered Phase 2 of COVID-19 re-opening on Friday, which sparked hope about life becoming closer to normal. But after my tempo run on Thursday, I couldn’t put weigh on my right foot and worried that this training cycle was over before it really began.

Winter of 2019 – Week 2

On Sunday morning, I had a normal blood pressure reading!  I celebrated with a 30-minute treadmill run at the gym. The next day, my run around the neighborhood didn’t end well so I retreated back to the reliability of the treadmill on Saturday.
